Track Servers - syncing together

I love track servers - I use it now as my log book as I make sure I always fly with a GPS recording my flight. I lost interest long ago in writing down my flights in my log book...I'm not sure why as I used to enjoy that. I guess now I just love to share my flights with the rest of the World...well...if anyone cares that is!

A couple years ago, I got hooked on Leonardo (Manolis' track server) that can also be found on the Paragliding Forum and the DHV site. However, since I mainly flew hang gliders, I wasn't that attracted to the Paragliding Forum one and I wanted a place to store all my contry-men (and women's) flight as a Canadian history of flights. I convinced Manolis to install a version of Leonardo on my server for just Canadian flights.

The On Line Contests (OLC) were also a big cumbersome to join and cost pilots' money, not much money but it was still a deterrent. With my server, user accounts were synced with our National Association's database of users. So if you have valid Canadian insurance, you have an account on our Canadian Leonardo.

The "big" news now is that Manolis has worked with the other track servers (XContest & the upcoming FAI track server) to enable the automated cooperation between the various track servers to share the tracklogs submitted. So now my fellow Canadians can submit their tracks to our Leo and that info is then synced to the main Leonardo server (at Paragliding Forum) which is then synced to the DHV Leo and the XContest.

Single post with multiple places to view.

So where should you post your flights? If you don't have your own Leonardo and you want maximum exposure, post them on the Paragliding Forum Leonardo and they will get shared with the others. The other servers don't share the other way (yet at least) so I'd stick to the Paragliding Forum Leonardo

I visited this sight for the first time and found it much informative and knowledgeable but I would like to add that currently we are living in the era of IT but unfortunately more than half of world population is illiterate. Out of those a few are computer and internet familiar so the target market for internet marketing is niche. Therefore the developed nations should promote IT as well as computer literacy in these developing areas so the target market can be increased in future.
