The emphases is on having fun both in the air and on the ground. Eastern Washington offers world class cross country conditions and the resort town of Chelan, with it's beautiful lakes and welcoming community offers lots of opportunity for fun when you're not bagging 100+ mile flights out on the flats. Mini-golf, mountain biking and "toasting" (Franglish for tanning) were all popular. James and Pam suggested that we check out some "ice caves" near Chelan. The problem was that the entrance to the caves was dynamited in the sixties because the local government figured they were a hazard.
