Kind of an interesting morning. When I

Kind of an interesting morning. When I - Kind of an interesting morning. When I arrived at the South Side this morning a very peculiar cloud capped the west end. Once on top, I noticed a fog bank followed the low lying area from Provo Lake to the point. The cloud bank was less than a half mile wide, and as it approached the hill it snaked it's way over the top. As the sun rose the fog quickly burned off. The morning turned out to be quite nice.

A South Side Junk Session

A South Side Junk Session - Saturday on the South Side. Moderate wind, hangs, bags and other flying things made for a congested morning. John Lindbergh effortlessly cruised above the calamity below, as though he was on a different layer of the lift band.

Meanwhile, I squeaked in a few flights when the crowded skies lightened up. (The following photos were taken by Val Stevens)

Glen Volk is a champion...

We were staying in Ocean Beach and I was having trouble finding our hotel. I pulled over in a neighborhood to open my laptop and pull up mapquest, when a vehicle pulled up fast behind me. A man rocked up to my window and asked, "Where ya from?" I turned to see Glen Volk staring at me! Inadvertantly, I'd parked across the street from his house. He was stopping at home and we were shocked to see each other.

The next day, Glen spent his afternoon shuttling us around with his personal secret beach access point below Torrey Pines.

What's Dustin up to ???

Looks like my aerial adversary has been sniffing epoxy recently:

Is that an integral keel ninja sword with haulback fairing? HA... Fanciful fairings will get you no where fast my friend.

WW Factory Fly-by...

On my way to San Diego, I stopped at the Wills Wing factory. Below, Peter Swanson begins putting together a new T2. If you've purchased a WW glider in the past 7 years, it's likely Peter assembled it.

Every visit to the factory I get to know a bit more about the employees. The boys in the metal shop are exceedingly competent. Each is highly skilled yet retains a humble demeanor. Gary did some great work on my control frame for a new vario pod.
